Broken CD

After 3 years I decided to clean up my Favourites and leave there only works which I still like. I saw this beautiful (but very sad) photo, saw that you've requested critique on it... I didn't have a chance to use "Critique" feature when I was active on DA, but since now I can and impact of this photo makes me break my silence on DA one last time, I'll do it.
Maybe today many people don't use optical discs as main storage of their data, but I still do so. To disc owner, impact depends on the content of the disc. To me, this broken CD means loss of something irreplaceable.
It's very difficult to take photos of this surface, and you've managed to do it really well (except the left corner, where part of the room can be seen). The background texture doesn't distract viewer, but I think it would be better to make it pure black.
I haven't seen a broken CD before I saw this photo back in 2009, so to me it's very original.
I like this work and I keep it in my collection to look at it and feel a pure horror.
