i am not a fan of hdr photography, but can't deny this is a beautiful cottage and my favourite place to visit when i can.
nice work.

Thank you, I have loved Castleton for years. Strange how different you see it when you return with a camera.

Many HDR's are over done IMHO. I love the look of HDR, but the picture need to still retain some reality. Strong colour and contrast are fine, but I like to try and keep it real. Of course I don't always achieve this, but thats art I suppose..

you got it in 1 there why i am not keen on HDR's because they just dont look real?.
having photographed many years in beautiful places like derbyshire and wales i want to capture the view that i see there through my own eyes in my photo's as close as possible to keep them for memories, i see many people butchering a beautiful landscape by simply over doing there HDR and turning it into some alien landscape thats unrecognisable.
you are also right when you said but thats art i surpose?, everyones taste is different and thats a good thing or else the world could be boring lol.
:iconteslaextreme:
Indeed it would be a boring place if everyone was the same.

I like straight photography. I also like the "painting quality" a HDR can give. Especially to stone buildings.

I've stopped making it obvious that a picture is HDR as I like an image to be judged on the picture, not the technique. I'm also quite sure that its is not to everyone's taste. I would hope that you will still look at my other works and judge them by your own standards, that way I will improve, even if I cheat a little with HDR.

Your comments are most welcome.

thank you for asking for my advice on your work but honestly i think you got the wrong person here as i dont know about this HDR lark as i said.
looking at the comments left on your page your clearly very good at it as other HDR fans have said so.
BUT i will come back later on and have a closer look at some of your stuff as i love the subjects that you photograph and leave you a few notes ok, infact i will add you as a watch if you dont mind so i can see your future work progress....keep it up.
:iconteslaextreme:
That would be excellent, I value your opinion because you are not one of the HDR set..

Thankyou..

oh ok? lol.
i dont see how that works because i dont know what i am on about with this HDR crowd ha ha.

so ok if you want me to be honest and pass on a few comments about how i see things myself i will for you with pleasure, but i hate to think your thinking i am insulting your work etc because i am not, were just useing different tecnics for the same hobby.

Its a scene thats all too easy to show halos, but you've nailed it there, well done..:D
